The next municipal elections to be held on November 1st, 2009 represent a unique opportunity for all Montrealers interested in shaping the City’s future. Louise O' Sullivan, the mayoral candidate under the banner of Équipe Louise O' Sullivan Parti Montreal Ville-Marie, is strongly committed to reforming the municipal administration from the top down.
Joining countless Montrealers disillusioned with the negligence, apathy and poor governance of the current municipal administration, Louise O'Sullivan, a vibrant business woman and a former member of the City Hall’s Executive Committee, plans to inject a strong sense of leadership into municipal politics. Together with her team, she has set an ambitious agenda which aims to restore the pride of Montrealers in their City, while facing the challenges head-on.

After being elected in November 2001 under the Gérald Tremblay’s party, Louise O'Sullivan got appointed to the Executive Committee; between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2004, she was responsible for the social development/revenue security and the Business Centre portfolios. While on the Executive Committee, she spearheaded partnerships with the Montréal Police Services, Health Montréal, and various social agencies and community groups involved with issues ranging from prostitution, to homelessness, graffiti, and street gangs.

Louise O’Sullivan’ resigned from the Executive committee in December 2004; her disagreement with Tremblay administration’s approach to governance was profound. She then served out the remainder of her term as an independent City Councillor representing the district of Peter-McGill in the borough of Ville-Marie where she had been elected originally. In January 2006, Louise O' Sullivan created her own party, Montréal Ville-Marie.
In 1996, Louise O’Sullivan’s inspiration to improve Montrealers’ social and personal circumstances motivated her to create the Cartier Heritage Foundation. To date, the Foundation has helped thousands of families and children in need. She was President of the Regroupement des Femmes Cadres du Québec, an honorary patron of the Chaînon and the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, the past board member of the Geordie Productions, the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal and partner of the Grands Ballets Canadiens.
A former Secretary-Treasurer of the Société de développement de Montréal (SDM), Louise O'Sullivan has served on the boards of numerous Montreal institutions, such as: the Comité de gestion stratégique sur la sécurité et la qualité du milieu de vie, the Conseil régional de l’Ile de Montréal (CRDIM, the Fonds Ville-Marie, the Table de concertation du Vieux-Montréal and the Villes et Villages en Santé. Born to a French mother and an Irish father, Louise O’Sullivan, a perfectly bilingual Montrealer, has named her party the Équipe Louise O’Sullivan Parti Montréal-Ville-Marie in memory of the French settlers who laid the foundation for the City, but more importantly, because while reflecting the diversity of Montreal, her party is committed to represent the public interest at large.
