Profil professionnel et notes personnelles :

Sean Murphy is candidate for the position of Borough Councillor with Équipe Louise O'Sullivan Parti Montreal Ville-Marie in the district of Saint-Henri / Little Burgundy / Point-Saint-Charles. This 40 year-old resident of Point-Saint-Charles has a Bachelor degree in political science from Concordia University, and has been an estate agent since 1995.

The economic downturn of the mid-90’s did not stop Sean Murphy from creating his own construction company in order to preserve the old historical buildings in Hudson, his place of residence at the time. Passionate about protecting Quebec’s cultural heritage, he became the founding member of Heritage Hudson, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Hudson’s old architecture and green spaces. He was also a member of Hudson Players’ Club, an association involved in Hudson’s community life.

After moving to Notre-Dame de Grâce in 2002, Sean Murphy became active in the Head and Hands organization where he was elected to the board of directors. This organization works with youth to promote their physical and mental well being, as well as their empowerment. He also organizes fund-raising campaigns at the Old Orchard Pub, an activity which plays vital role in helping to finance a local (Notre-Dame-de-Grâce) food bank.

Proud of his Irish roots, Sean Murphy is an active member of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce. He is involved with the Community Theatre of Point-St-Charles, which assists the disadvantaged local youth by providing financial assistance for neighbourhood’s cultural activities.

Sean Murphy made his decision to join Louise O' Sullivan’s team, because, as he puts it, “Her fresh ideas, practical experience, ability to obtain concrete results and the will to act are what is needed to help Montreal regain its pride and dynamism again.”
